Last Day of Game Journalism

Question 1: How to play the game?
Answer 1: First of it's a survival game so you'll have to be quite strategic about your approach to the game. You collect wood from tress, collect crafting supplies, food, and ammunition from crates and bags left all around the map and use those supplies to make a house, better clothing, ammunition, and medical supplies. If you're able to make a house raiders will start to appear in the game so you'll have to defend yourself or attack their camps to survive.

Question 2: Did I encounter AI raiders? Yes or No. Why or why not.
Answer 2: I didn't encounter any raiders, because i would die to early into the game and wouldn't have a house made for raiders to loot. I'm almost certain that you will need a house for raiders to spawn in and become a threat.

Question 3: If I were to start over, how much progress can i make in 30 minutes now knowing how to play?
Answer 3: So after i played 30 minutes I never really progressed, for some reason I was unable to place my wooden walls down to make my house, all I did was survive about one and a half days until I just gave up and gave myself to a wolf. My screenshots didn't process through fraps so I was unable to capture screenshots.

Game Journalism Day 2

Question 1: What did I do?
Answer 1: So what i did for the 45 minutes of play time was collect wood, and find bags with valuable resources. I didn't want to attempt to challenge a bear or wolf, so i took on much smaller animals like a rabbit and chicken. I wasn't able to make myself a house, but was able to make a campfire to keep warm.

Question 2: What did i do wrong?
Answer 2:  What i did wrong was when i first loaded the game up i tried killing a wolf thinking i could kill if without any difficulties, which i was very wrong and instead i died. Another thing i did wrong was not make use of my resources, which i made a whole load of sticks, and not wooden planks to make a base.

Question 3: Tips
Answer 3: Don't kill wolves/ bears unless you're fully geared up for it. You click G to open up your inventory and R to reload your gun. You only get one wood block for every chop you do.

Question 4: My opinion of the game
Answer 4: My opinion of this game is neutral, as i like some assets like how it runs and plays, but some negatives like the gun shooting is a little sloppy, and the amount of wild animals that can kill you is a little TO much, but all in all it an alright game, note that this game is just a pre alpha and it's not the full release. So for a pre alpha its pretty good.

Question 5: What happened today in the game?
Answer 5: Nothing much actually, all i did was collect wood for fire/ to make a house, search for bags for loot, and killed two chickens for a meal later.

Game Journalism Day 1

Question 1: What are a persons basic needs
Answer 1: Water, Food, Shelter, Oxygen, Protection, Clothes.

Question 2: What is the definition of the title of the game.
Answer 2: The action or fact of maintaining of supporting oneself at a minimum level.

Question 3: A brief description of the game
Answer 3: Subsistence is a first person, sandbox, open world survival game. You must survive in a harsh environment with limited resources, and with bandits that will kill you with no questions asked. You must build your own house, create a farm, and defend yourself against wild animals or bandits.

Question 4: Who made the game?
Answer 4: The game is made by Cold games.

Question 5: Who are they?
Answer 5: They're a gaming development run by a single person

Question 6: What type of game is it and what does it compare to?
Answer 6: This game can be compared to a lot of first person survivals, such as Forest, Rust, and 7 days to die  (minus the zombies). This game would be described as a sandbox, first person survival game.

Question 7: What are a few features of the game?
Answer 7: You can craft, and create fires, kill animals and use them for food, you have guns and weapons to kill enemies or animals. What the player can expect from this game is true survivor instincts and having a good mind set of how to survive. They may be oblivious on what they're doing at first but will soon learn on what to do. The player should expect what it feels to be out in the wild with limited resources and how to survive with people and animals trying to kill you.

Question 8: What does it mean to be early access?
Answer 8: Having early access means you have an early copy of the game, which mean it can either be a pre alpha, closed beta, or the full game, but you get the privilege to play the game earlier then its release date.

Question 9: What is the first thing you should do in Subsistence?
Answer 9: You should first try to collect wood for a shelter to build and firewood. Next you should find some sort of food resource so u don't die of hunger/ dehydration. You basically need all these basics thing once you start the game which is; Food, Water, Shelter, Some sort of Weapon, and Warmth.

Friday Post

For the past few weeks we have done two different assignments that include khan academy and Photoshop. So out of about 15 khan academy assignments i was able to complete about 10 of them. I never learned any new shortcuts in Photoshop because i already knew most of them. If you're wanting to animate in Photoshop what you will wan to do first is you have to select one or more frames that you want to copy in the timeline panel, then you will want to do is copy any frames from the panel menu, next you will want to do is select any destination frames in the current animation or another animation, and then you will want to copy any frames from the panel menu again, then add more frames if necessary, and adjust the looping and animation according to your liking.

I really wish my teacher knew how its like to not be in the mood.

What ive done this week

This week we started a new assignment that we use some sort of code to create pictures, the website is called Khan Academy, which also can help you with other subjects like math, science, etc. We've had multiple projects for this assignment. Some of the projects iv'e done so far are s snowman, and a snowman waving, and a sun rising up.

This iv'e learned this week

To capture a animated GIF you must use the Chrome capture. How you make a circle by using code in Khan Academy is by typing in ellipse( whatever dimensions you want put them in here);
By drawing a rectangle you type in rect( then whatever dimensions you want);

What I did this week in info tech

So this week we started to do a movie scheme like assignment called pivot animator, then in which we were to create a remake of the Scott Sterling soccer or volleyball video. Before that we had made our blogs so we could post our creations, and to make a blog is quite easy, some may ask how to create banner of some sort

What I learned this week

What i learned this week was how to use the Pivot animator shortcuts which were quite reliable when you don't know what button you must use. I've also learned how to create my own banner for my blog with looks quite nice, and it nice to know that you can add a banner to the top of your blog.

My opinion on Pivot Animator

So after using Pivot Animator for the past week ive learned that this app should be used for people that were just introduced to animations. Pivot is quite easy to use as there is not that many tools for you to use so it isn't so complicated, that being said because it doesn't have that many tools it means its lacking variety in content
